At the Happy Valley racemeeting conducted on Wednesday, 15 May 2024, Apprentice Ellis C W Wong pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding and was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 29 May 2024 and to expire on Thursday, 6 June 2024 on which day he may resume race riding, incorporating three Hong Kong racemeetings.

Stewards have subsequently acceded to a request from Apprentice Wong to vary the dates of the suspension to allow Apprentice Wong to fulfill riding engagements at the Happy Valley racemeeting on Wednesday, 5 June 2024.  Accordingly, Apprentice Wong is now suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Sunday 26 May 2024 and to expire on Monday, 3 June 2024 on which day he may ride, which incorporates three Hong Kong racemeetings.
