Tends to race from midfield or further back. Rather high-strung. Best results in JRA events over 1800m. Looking somewhat lackluster in morning work. Less distance this time not a plus.

Five Letter

Oldest member at 7 years. Has been racing at this level for more than 3 years with best four thirds. Managed to make board last out under the same conditions. Can show late burst of speed at times, but unreliable.

Hiya

Has failed to finish better than 8th in last 10 starts, largely sprints at this level. Last raced in December 2023 over 1800m without better results. Likely not a contender here.

La La Effort

Miho-based and raced almost exclusively at Tokyo. Best a fourth in last six starts over varying distances, but 121lb to be carried this time is a plus, 7lb lighter than usual assigned weight. Decent speed. Is primed.

Mei To Sui

Colt raced solely over 1800m to 1900m, dropping to first 1600m in third start at this level after showing ability to lead. First time at Tokyo but has enjoyed good results racing to the left at Chukyo and Niigata.

Meiner Citrus

Has best a ninth from four JRA starts at this level. Lacks speed and won only once at Tokyo in lower class. Little change seen in morning work. Likely not competitive here.

Meisho Lanakila

Has come close but has only best third from eight starts after rising to this level. Being moved to dirt for first time. Has good early speed, enough to lead, which may do the trick if dirt suits. Assigned lesser weight than usual a plus.

Mozu Tanjiro

Took 16 attempts to score second win but finally won over Hanshin 1800m. Tends to travel from good position. Best results have come at Hanshin. First time at Tokyo, but has consistently made the board in left-handed bids. Trip being shortened by 200m. Has sharp late kick which may be suited to Tokyo 1600m.

Pick Up Line

Promising colt is 2-1-3 in last three starts, all over Tokyo 1600m. Moved up to this class last start. Races in front or very close to pace. Will carry 123lb, 3-5lb less than usual recent weights. Can do well from any gate. Based at Miho barn of highly successful former jump jockey Tsuyoshi Tanaka. Highly competitive here.

Romeo Boss

Miho-based colt won over Tokyo 1600m in October 2023, then returned after around four months to score a sixth in first time at this level racing under 128lb. Racing at Tokyo again and 123lb assigned weight both huge pluses. Promising.

Royal Dance

Best fifth from four starts at this level came at Fukushima last out. Return to higher-bar Tokyo, where he tends to do poorly, is not a plus. Assigned weight of 119lb a plus but likely not enough to do the trick.

Yuino Ichigeki

Miho-based colt has only five starts behind him. Two wins both over 1400m, one of them at Tokyo. Should handle 1600m, with assigned weight of 121lb (lighter than weight carried for wins) a plus. However, speed likely not competitive here.
