FWD QEII Cup
DUBAI HONOUR (GB)
Cantered one lap on the all weather track.
“He’s in great form. He comes here a little bit fresher than last year (when third) and he had a nice warm up race at Kempton which he won,” said Issy Paul, track rider and assistant to trainer William Haggas.
HISHI IGUAZU (JPN)
800m in 55.0, last 400m in 26.0s on the turf track.
Tomohiro Takahashi, the assistant to trainer Noriyuki Hori, said, “His physical condition is still in progress and he finished his breeze as planned.”
NORTH BRIDGE (JPN)
800m in 58.3, last 400m in 25.9s on the turf track under jockey Yasunari Iwata.
Trainer Takeshi Okumura was happy with how he worked this morning and said: “As planned before the trip to Hong Kong, he did almost all the work needed in Japan. I would not give him too much work during the week in Hong Kong, so he just stretched his legs to grab the feel of the surface. I am satisfied with what he did today. Because of this weather, the soft ground should be more suitable for him compared to working on the fast ground. Everything has gone as planned.”
FWD Champions Mile
OBAMBURUMAI (JPN)
800m in 51.6s, last 400m in 24.3s on the turf track under Kazuhiro Yamada, the rider and the assistant to trainer Keiji Yoshimura.
“He moved nicely. I told the rider not to do too much on the horse today but the time was a bit quicker than expected. I am happy with how he looks and he feels good. He seemed to grab the feel of the track and handled it well,” Yoshimura said.
Chairman’s Sprint Prize
