Forget G1 The Galaxy (1100m) when finished last after becoming fractious in the gates and almost dislodged the rider and missed the start by several lengths. Had previously won G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m). Has class and will be hard to run down in front.

Arkansaw Kid

Surprised first up with 2.5L second in the Listed Sunlight Classic (1100m) at Flemington when raced handy. Second up record is good and isn’t without a chance.

Libertad

Disappointing at last start when 7.46L 13th after suffering severe interference and failed to close off in home straight in G3 over 1200m. Could fill a place at odds.

Corniche

Has been placed in past two at Listed level over 1100m and 1200m. Finished third, beaten 0.71L, to Brave Mead and Schwarz at last start. Not the worst.

Red Resistance

Short odds 1.9L fifth in the Listed Fireball Stakes (1100m) at Randwick on 9 March when led and faded. Scratched at barriers in the Darby Munro Stakes (1200m) on 23 March. Has won second up.

Schwarz

Leading contender who likes to race on the pace. Jumped awkwardly at last start in the Listed Darby Munro Stakes (1200m) when he finished second, beaten 0.55L. Ready to win.

Raikoke

Has won two from three starts, including G3 Zeditave Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield when he led. Was unwanted in the market when he finished fifth, beaten 3.35L, in 1200m Inglis Sprint. Will find this tougher.

The Novelist

Has raced three times for two wins including G3 over 1200m. Again led at last start but finished fourth, beaten 1.37L, in Listed Darby Munro Stakes (1200m). Faces big task.

Hedged

Put two wins together over 1000m and 1100m before finishing fifth, beaten 3.85L, in Listed Sunlight Classic (1100m) when racing keenly in early and middle stages. Can improve.

The Instructor

First-up since last in the G3 Blue Sapphire Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield last November when was eased down in the final 100m. Has won two trials in lead up, but others look preferred here.

Joliestar

Has two wins and three seconds from five starts. Won the G1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield last year. Has won at 1200m first-up. Has had two trials to prepare for this. Big watch.

Learning To Fly

Consistent G2-winning filly who finished 1.83L fourth in the G1 Surround Stakes (1400m) at Randwick and before that was second in the G2 Light Fingers Stakes (1200m). Is third-up this year and rates a danger.

Mumbai Muse

Got well back at her most recent race when finished fourth, beaten 3.25L, in Inglis Sprint (1200m) at Flemington. Is already a G3 winner of the Red Roses Stakes (1100m) and has been placed second-up. Hard to recommend.
