G3 – 1600m – Turf

Cafe Millenium Best suited back to 1600m after racing ungenerously at last start in G1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m) when beaten 9.32L. Displayed mild heat stress after race. Hard to beat.
Witz End Talented New Zealander making Australian debut. Has two wins and two seconds from his four races. Wide last start over 1400m when 2.8L second. The 1600m for the first time is ideal.
Ducasse Failed to run out 2000m of the G1 Rosehill Guineas at last start, finishing 3.42L seventh at big odds. Is G2 placed here over 1600m and this suits better.
Les Vampires Led at last start in the G2 Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill to finish 3.79L fourth. Before that 1.57L eighth in G1 Randwick Guineas (1600m). Likely to lead again.
Tannhauser Goes into this third-up after finishing sixth, beaten 4.26L, at last start in G2 Phar Lap Stakes (1500m). Capable enough on his day if conditions suit.
Kintyre Extremely consistent at his past three, including 1.44L fourth in latest in G2 Tulloch Stakes (2000m). Drops back quickly to 1600m where he appears better suited. Can bounce back.
Heman Finished second over this trip in the G3 Carbine Club Stakes at Flemington last November when beaten 0.5L. Is third up after a 4.81L seventh in the G2 Phar Lap Stakes (1500m). Likely improver.
Zondee Has won past two over 1550m at Kensington in lower grade races. Still learning and although this is much tougher, it’s hard to knock winning form. Suited to 1600m.
Port Lockroy Raced wide throughout the Canberra Guineas (1400m) and hung out in the straight but managed to finish second, beaten 0.14L. The 1600m is a plus.
Mchale Returned to racing as a gelding and has been unbeaten in his two runs back. Scored a 1.07L victory over 1350m at Wyong at his latest. The 1600m should suit.
Gold Bullion Improved run last start when second up to finish 0.55L second over 1550m at Kensington. Needs to find more improvement to challenge the top fancies.
Groundrush His last four have been good. Got home hard at Flemington (1400m) to finish 0.6L third and then won at Kensington (1400m) by 0.89L.  Is on the way up.
Long Genes Worked home well after getting back at last start at Rosehill over 1500m to finish 5.13L seventh. This is tougher but worth some thought.
The Years Raced on the speed over 1550m at Kensington to finish a game second, beaten 1.22L at last start.  Will again be a front-runner.
Pasima Finally broke maiden status at last start at Warwick Farm (1600m) by 0.04L after five consecutive placings. Worth a look at odds.
Agita Had no luck at his last start when finished seventh, beaten 1.65L over 1400m at Kensington. Although fitter and the distance suits, this is a tough second up task.
Edited By Has won his past two, both over 1400m at Newcastle. Couldn’t be run down from the lead at his latest win. Will find this tougher.
Jacob’s Time Has been thereabouts in recent starts but needs dramatic improvement to figure here after finishing fifth at Hawkesbury (1600m), beaten 4.27L. Will appreciate weight drop.

Mah Ali Was good when finishing 1L second over 1600m at Moonee Valley three starts back, before failing over 1400m on heavy Kembla Grange track at latest run. Hard to have.
  Reserves
Firestorm Finished sixth in the G1 New Zealand 1000 Guineas (1600m), beaten 4.3L, before winning at Kensington over 1400m by 0.6L at his Australia debut last month. Respect.
Piercing Arrow Goes up a lot in class after finishing second in a Benchmark 74 Handicap (1400m), beaten 0.83L. Is yet to be tried at 1600m but rise in distance enhances chances.
High Dandy Led by faded badly in the G2 Tulloch Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill to finish 12th, beaten 7.04L. Better suited back to 1600m, but this is just as tough.
