First up after finishing 2.5L second over 1600m in December. Is G1 placed and has won one of three freshes. Is one of the chances.

I Am Unstoppable

Forget recent run when finished last in the 1000m G1 Black Caviar Lightning Stakes. Knuckled at started and pulled up with slow recovery. Worth another chance.

Stretan Angel

Classy and lightly raced filly who has only been out of top three spots once in five starts.  This is easier than last start 3.75L seventh in G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) in November. Hard to beat.

Scheelite

Won here over 1100m in May. Form since then is mostly moderate. Didn’t finish off as expected at last start when 9th, beaten 4.05L over 1400m at Flemington after racing keenly. Needs to lift.

Hanchi

Only beaten 0.5L over this journey at Flemington earlier this month. Has a reasonable strike rate in weaker races. Although peaking, this is a tough assignment.

Hedged

Building a good strike rate with three wins from six starts. Last start winner at the track and distance when he won by 0.5L. No reason why he can’t win again.

The King

Drops back to 1100m and has been freshened after a disappointing 12 of 16 finish, beaten 3.7L, at the Gold Coast over 1400m in January. Needs to improve significantly but has been placed in both first-up runs.

Wolfy

Scored narrowly at most recent run in a restricted 1200m at Caulfield. Has been outclassed in tougher races and this is another big rise in class. Has a strong finish, but will need luck.

Perilous Fighter

Is never far away and bounced back with a 0.3L second at Caufield over 1000m at most recent start at big odds. Will be suited by the 1100m and is worth following at attractive odds.

Title Fighter

Has raced just three times for a win and a third. Will need to show more improvement to be a factor in this which he is first-up since October.

Core Concept

Last start maiden winner over 1000m at Pakenham. Has raced well at a much lower level with three minor placings at maiden grade. This isn’t an easy task.

De Bergerac

Ran on strongly to finish third over 1100m, beaten 1.75L at Flemington earlier this month. Will have plenty of admirers on that effort and is worth following.

Estriella

Easy first-up winner in G3 1100m at Caulfield in February and then won the approximately HK$5.1 million Inglis Sprint 1200m by 0.75L at Flemington earlier this month when led. Massive chance.

Shesallshenanigans

Is a Listed winner at the distance and track but her form after that win was mixed. Goes into this race first-up where she has recorded one win at the trip. Will have some support.

Saltaire

Was good last year despite not winning. Is first-up for this and has had two recent trials. Sure to be in the firing line.

Excess

Attempted to lead in restricted Cranbourne 1000m race at last start, but faded to finish 1.25L second. Yet to show she is up to this class.
