Jockey James McDonald was stood down at the Rosehill meeting today (Saturday, 3 February) in Sydney by the Australian Turf Club’s Chief Medical Officer after sustaining an injury to his left foot in the barriers before the running of race five, the G3 Widden Stakes, leading to the scratching of Celerity.
Pending any further developments, jockey McDonald intends travelling to Hong Kong tonight and will be examined by the Club’s Chief Medical Officer upon his arrival at Sha Tin on Sunday (4 February) to assess his condition.
A further update will be issued as it becomes available.
