The “Lucky Start 2024 Raceday” will be staged at Sha Tin Racecourse this Monday (1 January), where thrilling on track action will be accompanied by performances from popular girl group COLLAR and the band Nowhere Boys.
The event commences at 12pm in the Parade Ring with an opening performance by COLLAR, whose lively theatrics will precede a 10-race fixture – headlined by the HK$4.2 million G3 Chinese Club Challenge Cup Handicap (1400m).
Known for their cinematic rock music, Nowhere Boys will perform in the Public Betting Hall throughout the day, which also plays host to the “Where Good Luck Starts” Racecourse Trivia Game. Prizes are available until stocks last.
In order to praise the outstanding performances of Lucky Sweynesse, Golden Sixty and Romantic Warrior at the recent HK$118 million LONGINES Hong Kong International Races, The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, will present commemorative saddlecloths to the winning connections at 12.20pm in the Parade Ring.
A mega prize of HK$100 million will be on offer to celebrate the New Year. At the “Lucky Start 2024 Raceday” at Sha Tin Racecourse, the Triple Trio dividend is estimated to reach HK$18 million for a single HK$10 winning unit with the Triple Trio jackpot being topped up to HK$11 million from the Triple Trio Jackpot Reserve. The Quartet & First 4 Merged Pool for Races 6 and 10 will be allocated a jackpot of HK$1 million each. The Mark Six New Year Snowball draw will be held on Wednesday, 3 January. The draw will carry a snowball of $60 million, the First Division Prize Fund is estimated to reach $80 million for a single $10 winning unit.
In addition, a jackpot of over $2.3 million will be carried over to the Six Win Bonus on Monday. In the event that there is only one $10 winning unit for the pool, the dividend is estimated to reach $6 million.
Sha Tin opens at 11am. Ten races are programmed, while the first race will be run at 1pm on Monday, 1 January. The day’s highlight is the HK$4.2 million G3 Chinese Club Challenge Cup Handicap (1400m), to be run on turf as Race 7.
To mark the New Year’s Day racing event, a variety of food options will be available at Trackside Kiosk 2 on the “Lucky Start 2024 Raceday”.
