LONGINES HKIR brings day of premier entertainment

On Sunday, 10 December at Sha Tin Racecourse, a feast of premier entertainment is in store throughout the day for racegoers’ enjoyment at the LONGINES Hong Kong International Races (Photo 1, 2), alongside a stellar cast of top-notch horses and jockeys from around the world. One of Asia’s top divas, Karen Mok (Photo 3), will be the star of the opening performance, while world-renowned tenor Warren Mok (Photo 4) will lead the singing of the National Anthem at the Opening Ceremony.  Racegoers entering either Sha Tin or Happy Valley Racecourse before 3.30 pm on the day will receive a commemorative HKIR cap (Photo 5), available while stocks last, as a souvenir of the annual sporting extravaganza.

The wide range of trackside entertainment lined up for fans to enjoy on the day at Sha Tin Racecourse includes: 

The event will kick off at 11.30 am in the Parade Ring with a mesmerising opening performance by Karen Mok, one of Asia’s leading pop singers. Making her first-ever performance at Sha Tin Racecourse, the diva’s rendition of classic hits will bring the stage alive, creating an electrifying atmosphere to get the day’s events started.

After Race 2, all jockeys participating in the four G1 races will greet racing fans at the Opening Ceremony in the Parade Ring to raise the curtain on this year’s International Races. World-renowned tenor Warren Mok will lead the singing of the National Anthem at the ceremony.  

The four G1 races will be run on the turf track in the following sequence:
-          LONGINES Hong Kong Vase (Race 4) at 2.10 pm
-          LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint (Race 5) at 2.50 pm
-          LONGINES Hong Kong Mile (Race 7) at 4 pm
-          LONGINES Hong Kong Cup (Race 8) at 4.40 pm

Emerging talents from TVB's STARS Academy, namely Duncan Hau, Janees Wong, Lolita Tsoi and Archie Sin (Photo 6), will bring musical delight between races in the Public Betting Hall beneath Mezza One.

To mark the prestigious racing event, a variety of sumptuous cuisines will be available at Trackside Kiosk 2 on the LONGINES HKIR day.

An interactive AR photo hotspot (Photo 7) in the Public Betting Hall beneath Mezza One is the place to go to take snapshots for sharing unforgettable moments with family and friends. The AR lens will enable racegoers to take interactive photos or videos of themselves with champion horse Golden Sixty and jockey Vincent Ho.

On a day that celebrates sporting excellence, racegoers raring to unleash their competitive streak will be thrilled by the Jockeys’ eTraining Zone at Backstage (Photo 8), where they enter a world brimming with the allure of eSports, and can explore various interactive games including e-boxing, e-cycling and VR running. By playing the games, participants can earn e-stamps for the chance to win prizes, while stocks last.

Renowned artiste Lin Min Chen (Photo 9) will make an appearance at the Digital Zone at 3.35 pm.

Rounding the day off in style will be a thrilling pyrotechnic display (Photo 10) for an electrifying grand finale lighting up the night sky, bringing the LONGINES Hong Kong International Races to an unforgettable climax. Brilliant fireworks, shimmering lights and enchanting music will create an awe-inspiring atmosphere for celebrating the day’s memorable moments.

Admission to the racecourses for the LONGINES Hong Kong International Races on Sunday, 10 December will start at 10.25 am for a ten-race card. Race 1 will be at 12.25 pm.
