Former European galloper who has won at up to 2412m. Is yet to win in Australia and at most recent run was nine of 18, beaten 12.4L in Listed 2800m race here in May. Big task.

Rebel Racer

Tends to mix his form a bit but is extremely capable on his day. Has won at 3200m in this year’s Adelaide Cup. Improver.

Mr Waterville

Showed good improvement to finish fourth, beaten 0.5L in Geelong Cup (2400m). Has won beyond 3200m in Ireland and the rise in distance is ideal.

Team Captain

Hasn’t done much for a long time. His 2.5L at his most recent run in the Hamilton Cup (2200m) was encouraging but needs to do more. Place hope.

King’s Crossing

Has good enough recent form to be a leading contender. Won last start at Geelong over 2400m by 0.1L but is on the improve to handle rise in distance and class.

Raid The Bar

Last two runs at 2050m and 3070m have been encouraging and have netted a third and second. This is a lot harder.

Supagirl

Led in the Horsham Cup (2100m) to win by 5.25L. Goes into this race with plenty of confidence and will give a sight against tougher opposition.

Long Arm

Has struggled to find form in recent races. Finished five of eight, beaten 6.7L, at Caulfield over 2400m. Others preferred but is well weighted.

The Map

Well beaten in the Geelong Cup (2400m), finishing 11 of 13. Has reasonable form in South Australia but this is much harder.

Garachico 

Would need to improve on past few runs to be a contender. Ran on reasonably at last start at Geelong to be beaten 0.4L in weaker race.

Wahine Toa

Has raced twice at the track for a second and third. The distance shouldn’t be a problem but needs to improve on last start 7.95L sixth at Caulfield over 2400m after fading. Chance.

Insulation

Has the right profile to win this. Has only been unplaced once in his seven starts. Hs run two seconds at his last two starts, at Flemington and Caulfield. Worth following.

Commando Drift

Is race fit for this assignment. Was competitive in good class race at Cranbourne and then followed up with strong finish for 0.1L second over 2400m at Geelong. Respect.
