G1 – 2000m – Dirt

1

Arcangelo

Winner of hugely prestigious Belmont and Travers Stakes this year, latterly with a power-packed display. Major chances.

2

Zandon

Ended a dry spell – though posting some good consistent efforts in top company – when romping clear to win a G2 at Belmont At The Big A last month.

3

White Abarrio

A top 4yo taking his game to an even higher level this year, latterly with a 6.3l rout and earning career-high speed figures in a Saratoga G1.

4

Missed The Cut

Versatile surface-wise when UK- trained and a 2400m Santa Anita dirt winner on latest start as odds-on favourite. Much harder task here.

5

Derma Sotogake

Japanese-trained, compromising his Kentucky Derby chance by a sluggish start. Had won a G2 from the front at Meydan before then.

6

Saudi Crown

Upwardly mobile 3yo with early speed being his strongpoint. Made his G1 breakthrough with victory under this race’s rider at Parx in September.

7

Clapton

Steady progress in his 24-race career with a late closing running style. Caused a minor upset when winning an 1800m G2 in September.

8

Ushba Tesoro

Massive improvement since switching to dirt, with big-money success including Dubai World Cup victory at Meydan, surging from the back.

9

Senor Buscador

A win would surprise but capable of big efforts as when charging from way off the speed to win G2 San Diego Handicap at Del Mar in July.

10

Dreamlike

Only just behind better-fancied rival here Saudi Crown in a G1 at Parx in September – the first two clear.

11

Bright Future

Has made a rapid ascent for a stable that have won this before. Held on bravely to win a G1 over this trip at Saratoga in September.

12

Arabian Knight

Skipped the Triple Crown races, but on just his fourth career start bravely held on after leading throughout in a G1 at Del Mar in September. Chances.

13

Proxy

Has been a good horse from the start, finishing first or second 13 times and only just failing to win a G1 at Saratoga in September.
