G2 – 1600m – Turf
Aguirre |
Stays at least this trip and is probably best on a good or fast surface. Won a Listed event at Koln in May and a solid second in a Dortmund G3 in June. |
Angers |
Never threatened in a red-hot G1 at Deauville last month. A very different story in a G2 on faster ground at Koln previously, when this big horse surged clear of his eight rivals. Conditions should be right here. |
Arnis Master |
Awkward at the start and having to come from the rear but still proved too strong for ten rivals in a G3 over this trip at Milan in June. Second in a Dusseldorf G3 last month, again tricky at the start. |
Best Lightning |
Doing some good work at the finish when fifth in this last year, only a length behind the winner. Not consistent and well beaten last time but had won a fast-ground G3 at Dortmund in June. |
Brave Emperor |
UK trained but with a successful international profile, with wins in Germany and France also. Bossed from the front in a Krefeld G3 in April, also gaining a brave G3 Deauville success last month. Chance. |
Calif |
Slightly disappointing when unable to quicken in this contest last year, but came from the back to easily win a G3 over course and distance in May. Slowly away and never competitive last time. |
Dapango |
Accelerated impressively in the closing stages to win this last year. Didn’t seriously figure in his only start this season and is hard to train with feet issues. Chance of a repeat if fit enough. |
Parol |
Without winning but has good Group race form over this course and distance. Arrives here off probably a career best when romping to a 4L winning margin in a soft-ground Listed event at Dusseldorf last month. |
See Hector |
In good and consistent form this year, twice winning G3s over this trip at Dusseldorf, the latter being a clear-cut victory over seven rivals – looking to thrive on the soft ground even if that is unlikely here. |
