2400m – Turf

April Angel

The 9-year-old bottomweight is not far off celebrating a century of races. After two winless seasons she proved she still had what it takes last year with two wins. Came close on the penultimate start.

Arturo

Ideally suited to this 2400m distance he may lack a recent run, he returns here after a short break, but is well capable of playing a prominent part.

Auenwolf

Four wins from 11 races in 2023, albeit against inferior opposition, put him in the picture to play his part.

Cannello

Good form recently, reeling off successive wins in August, before almost making it a three-timer, beaten only a head over 1950m on 24 August.

Glacier Peak

His two wins in 2023 came back in January, both over this distance. Unplaced on his next four starts.

Just Light

Was busy last winter on the all-weather circuit. Only one run since, an unplaced effort in August. May find things a little tough for him today.

Karakorum

Drops back in trip after finishing at the rear when tried over 3200m on last start. His sole win from nine races this season came over 2500m, but has performed creditably in defeat too.

King Sihtric

Began the year over hurdles. Switched to the flat in July, and was placed and then won a minor contest. Stamina won’t be an issue.

Lady Lou

Still searching for her breakthrough first win at the 20th attempt. She went close to breaking her winless sequence over course and distance in June.

Lettyt Fight

Unplaced on his penultimate start in a Class 3 handicap but finished a noteworthy third over course and distance in June which offers hope of a decent show again on ground to his liking.

Parabak

Edged home to land a similar grade handicap over the trip in very soft going in April. But performances since suggest this may not be his day.

Port Au Prince

His form has tailed off since landing a 1900m handicap back in March. Well beaten on last start.

Prometeo

Won twice in 2021 then missed all of last season. Finished down the pack on the second of his two runs in 2023. Others make more appeal.

Replenish

This 10-year-old veteran knows his way around a racetrack. He’s managed a win most seasons, and only had one in front of him on his last visit to Longchamp.

Rosetta Stone

He has won over 2200m and 2500m, and was only narrowly denied on his last start in August.

Saam

Aiming to land back-to-back wins after landing a 2500m handicap at Deauville last month. Had run well in defeat before that, notably when runner-up at this track in June.

Situmeledemandais

This runner is having his 10th run of 2023. His last win came almost a year ago, at similar level of competition and over the trip. But his last run does not inspire confidence of a repeat.
