G3 – 1600m – Turf
American Hope |
Boasts two wins in his native Germany this year, but exposed (11th) in French Listed grade, he has a bit to find on that evidence. |
Bless |
Beaten a nose by a future classic winner at Chantilly in March, but he hasn’t really built on that in his three starts since. |
Brave Emperor |
Well-travelled British colt who boasts two wins (from three) overseas. His Royal Ascot flop can be overlooked as the trip was too long. Could prove competitive again if able to defy a 3lb penalty for German group win. |
Cawdor |
This progressive type is improving race to race. Finished second in Listed company before a creditable third in a very hot G3 race. Given that the second has since won in G1 grade, he is one to consider. |
Colombier |
Supplemented for this in the wake of winning newcomers’ race before following up at the main expense of a future listed winner. An exciting prospect. |
Kovrov |
Lightly campaigned to date, the suspicion remains that we haven’t see the best of him. Exclusively campaigned in the South-West of France (three wins), and also Listed placed there behind a smart colt, he remains of interest. |
Mr Moliere |
Form on the rise again after a couple of blips, and showed he was going the right way when beating a solid yardstick (proven performer) in Listed grade. Has gained both wins at Chantilly and likes some give. |
Muhalif |
This German performer is doing well for his new trainer. His three wins this year include a Listed win, but he clearly has more on his plate here. |
Padishakh |
Has had his sights lowered after failing to stay the French Derby trip. However, he wasn’t disgraced behind a top colt (Big Rock) in the spring, and is fully entitled to feature on the balance of his form. |
Royal Shake |
Useful performer on his day (two wins), but he needs to take his form to a different level in this grade. |
Sosino |
Bounced back to form over a more suitable trip last time. That was in a handicap and much more needed here. A noted mudlark, any give in the ground will help his cause. |
True To Form |
Connections are pitching high after Marseille-Borely debut win and Vichy third. Presumably well thought of, but this is a whole new ball game. |
