1000m – Turf

1

Rocket Rodney

His two previous runs over this course and distance have been a win and a second. Mixed messages from his last two starts. He ideally wants good or faster ground.

2

Democracy Dilemma

Effective on turf and all-weather, he looks to thrive on racing and has won three handicap sprints this year including a decisive front-running victory at Chelmsford last month.

3

JM Jungle

Gained reward for some consistent performances when outspeeding eight rivals at Haydock last month. That was on quick ground but he is proven on slower also.

4

Thunder Moor

Only one win so far but he came close when third in a handicap at Yarmouth last week, rallying after leading. Looks on a decent handicap mark and likely to be winning again soon.

5

Rogue Spirit

Slipping down the handicap after failing to make any serious impact in three starts this year. His victory at Haydock last September came on a slow surface.

6

Lakota Blue

His three career wins have come at around 1200m (on fast and slow ground) but so far yet to prove as effective over 1000m. Outspeeded at Sandown last time.

7

Brave Nation

Has shown very little in three starts this year – most recently when always struggling in a Royal Ascot handicap. His handicap mark is sliding, but it is unlikely to be enough.

8

Another Baar

Has run eight times this year, winning three sprint handicaps and proving himself on both soft and fast ground. Reportedly finished lame on his latest start.

9

Desert Games

Yet to win but has finished a close second on his last three runs. Has moved from a big to a small stable since his latest start.

10

Holkham Bay

Plenty of promise – including a win – in two all-weather starts last year. Swift from the gates he established a clear lead in a Doncaster sprint on last month’s return and was only just caught.

11

Desperate Hero

Came close to gaining the third win of his career when just caught in an eleven-runner dash at Yarmouth last week. A similar effort would give him a chance here.

12

Estate

Has twice gained sprint handicap victories this year – at Salisbury and last-time-out at Windsor.  Those came on a fast surface, and he’ll need to cope with slower ground here.

13

The Thames Boatman

Yet to win from five attempts on a turf surface though ran quite a good fourth at Newmarket last month, especially as he had raced much too keenly early on.
