1200m – Turf

1

Aljezur

Despite reportedly losing a shoe, he ran much better than his 22-1 odds might have suggested when second of eight in a novices’ event at Newbury on this month’s first career effort.

2

Appellant

Took on five more experienced rivals on his debut – in a 1200m maiden at Ayr earlier this month – but responded encouragingly to pressure to finish second. Should have benefitted from that.

3

Fire Demon

A newcomer from a stable that has sent out plenty of 2yo winners though they usually benefit from their first run. He is out of a mare who was herself a winner at two.

4

He’s Got Game

A first-time starter last won this in 2020 and he is one of five newcomers this time. A 62,000 euro yearling purchase who is a half-brother to an all-weather winner.

5

Indian Run

From the stable that won this last year. Made an encouraging start when third in a 1200m novices’ event at Newbury this month.

6

Kingdom Of Riches

Stable in very good form. He was an expensive 2yo purchase and is a half-brother to some smart performers.

7

Kodiac Thriller

Started slowly but finished strongly when only beaten 1/2l in a novices’ event at Windsor on his debut this month, a very sound effort against mostly more experienced rivals.

8

Miami Heat

Last of five on his debut early this month but looked very inexperienced that day and might also benefit from the slower ground on offer here.

9

North View

There are some encouraging signs in his pedigree, but he was a cheap purchase and is out of an unraced mare.

10

Timebar

A first-time started from a speedy family and from a stable who boasts a formidable record in this maiden in recent years.

11

Welcome Dream

This speedily-bred colt made an encouraging start to his career when finishing a close third in a Doncaster maiden on this month’s career debut, just tiring late on.
