Dead-heated for first place over 1400m last start and has won up to the mile in the past. Has to be considered a winning chance.

Can bounce back anytime in Class 4 and looked well in a recent trial when winning his heat easily. Has not won a race for 343 days but has what it takes to measure up here.

Easy Breezy

Fourth Kranji start here and put the writing on the wall with a strong run into third last start. Trying the mile for the first time is the query.

Lim’s Puncak Jaya

Should relish returning to his pet distance, and if left alone up front, could be hard to chase down.

Nine starts for naught at the track and distance, which is concerning, but he is never far away in a finish, generally.

Hardcore

Weakened to eighth after showing speed last start and now hasn’t won a race in 1051 days. Others are preferred.

Engine Start

Loves the mile and will also relish the switch back to turf but did win impressively on the Polytrack two starts ago. He can be erratic and hard to catch, but when right, he’s hard to beat.

Legacy Fortune

Has been disappointing in 2023 with seven unplaced runs, but did trial okay recently. He could be good each-way value.

Raced wide and was checked last start, so he had excuses. Tries the mile for the first time but gives the impression he’ll see it out strongly.

Looks outclassed at Class 4 level and others are preferred.

Seven starts in Class 4 for naught. Wait for him to drop back into Class 5.
