G1 – 1200m – Turf

Cold Case (Withdrawn)
Little Big Bear His reputation is built on his incredible speed and, after failing over 1600m, he bounded up the stands’ rail to win a 1200m G2 at Haydock last month. The one to beat.
Marbaan Swooped from the back to win a 1400m G2 at Goodwood last July. His close second at Salisbury last time suggested he is in top form, but one or two others may prove too quick.
Mischief Magic Zooming past tiring rivals he ended his 2022 season with a G1 victory at Keeneland. A lackluster display here on his 2023 return needs explaining but it seems that proper fast ground is required.
Noble Style Despite racing too keenly he kept moving forward, winning a prestigious G2 over this trip at York last August. Hasn’t so far matched that brilliance in two starts this year.
Rumstar A 1000m G3 winner at Newmarket last October but made no impression at Newbury on his 2023 return.
Sakheer Quickening clear of his rivals when winning a G2 over 1200m at Newbury last September, failing to thrive over 1600m on his return in a G1 Newmarket Classic. Much more chance down to this trip.
Shaquille Just keeps winning for his small stable, gaining his fifth win from six starts with a smooth front-running display in Listed company at Newbury last month.
Shouldvebeenaring This busy colt has won five of his 13 starts but probably ran best in defeat when second to brilliant speedster Little Big Bear at Haydock last time, though without ever threatening him.
The X O His two wins have come in minor all-weather company and, though he posted a clear career-best when finishing fast for second in a G3 here last month, his winning chance looks tiny.
Lezoo A marvellous two-year-old season included a G3 win here and a G1 victory at Newmarket. Failed to figure in a G1 Classic at Newmarket mainly no doubt through lack of stamina for 1600m.
Ocean Quest Showed that she had clearly progressed from last season when easily upstaging better fancied rivals in a heavy-ground G3 at Navan. Confirmed that progress when a close second in a Naas G3.
Queen Me Nearly landed a surprise win in a 1200m G2 at York on just her second start. She failed to thrive in a G1 Newmarket Classic on her return, now dropping back to a sprinting trip.
Swingalong Showed lots of speed at two, including a G2 York victory over 1200m. Has so far failed to show the same zip this year, though her two 2023 starts have come over longer trips and on slow ground.
