G2 – 1000m – Turf

Balsam This French-trained filly led in the closing stages to win a 1000m Listed race at Vichy last month. Likely to encounter faster ground than she has previously.
Bated Moon Finished strongly to make a winning debut, at Cork. Didn’t make much impact in a G3 subsequently.
Beautiful Diamond From the stable that won this last year, and this expensive breeze-up purchase surged clear of her rivals on her debut, at Nottingham, earlier this month.
Betties Bay Started slowly but finished well when an encouraging second in a 1200m Newbury maiden on her only start. May not be quite quick enough for this G2 challenge.
Born To Rock Showing terrific pace from the start, she was an easy Yarmouth winner on her only start. That form has not looked strong subsequently but she still looks a leading player.
Bundchen From the US stable with such a strong record in this. She was only just caught in a 900m maiden on the Keeneland dirt in April.
Callianassa Unlucky not to finish closer on her latest start, but it would still be a giant shock if she managed to win this.
Cotai Vision Made some late headway when fourth at Lingfield on his racecourse debut this month.
Crimson Advocate Showed some terrific speed to lead from gate to wire in a well-contested 1000m Stakes race on firm ground at Gulfstream Park. US raiders always deserve respect in this.
Cynane Didn’t have much trouble winning a firm-ground 1000m maiden at Belmont Park last month. Clearly a talented young US-trained speedster.
Flora Of Bermuda An expensive two-year-old purchase who showed promise on her debut at Sandown, then looking slightly unlucky not to win after a troubled passage at Beverley.
Gaiden Both starts have been encouraging, especially her close third in a Listed event over this trip at York last month. She looked happy on the quick surface there.
Geologist Was always close to the speed and only just failed to win on her only start, at Redcar. But dropping in trip and rising in class she faces a tough challenge here.
Got To Love A Grey Has won both her starts, one on slow ground and one on quick ground, latterly with a front-running display in Listed company at York. Her stable won this last year.
Graceful Thunder Despite showing inexperience by wandering around she was quick enough to win at Sandown on her debut. Admittedly second and third have both been soundly beaten since.
Hot Front Favourite to win a maiden on this month’s career debut and finished a close second after showing inexperience. But this is a much hotter event.
Juniper Berries Won on her debut and then ran perfectly well to finish second in a stronger event. But in the latter she raced much too keenly and that trait would likely be very costly here.
Lady Pink Rose Very inexperienced on her career debut when favourite at Catterick. This looks too big a challenge at this point in her career.
Launch Came close to winning a maiden on her debut, and then just faded late on when third in a G3 at Naas. Dropping back to this pure sprint trip looks a plus.
Mariamne A winner on the all-weather at Wolverhampton on her penultimate start, then running a decent second at Lingfield. However neither of those efforts suggest Group winning form.
Midnight Affair Has run really well on both starts, first when second at Newmarket and then when winning in a quick time at Beverley. Her owner won this prestigious G2 last year.
Onigiri Out of a speedy mare and, well backed to win first time out, duly fended off 11 rivals in that maiden at Redcar. Much stronger rivals this time.
Out Of The Stars Despite losing many lengths at the start it is to her great credit that she managed to surge past rivals and win that Kempton all-weather maiden in April. Not seen since that interesting debut.
Princess Chizara From a stable not famous for two-year-old winners but this filly was lightning fast from the gate when decisively beating three rivals in a fast-ground maiden at Brighton this month.
Relief Rally Didn’t look like winning either of her starts midway through the race but she responded to pressure each time to get the job done, latterly in a decent event at Salisbury.
Tallulabelle Has shown ability on both starts and looks to have plenty of early speed which could be helpful here, but she’ll be an outsider.
Thanksbutnothanks Close to winning over this course and distance on her debut, then scoring at Lingfield despite flashing her tail repeatedly.
Tiger Belle This Irish-trained filly was quick enough to win a 1000m maiden on her debut, then showing improvement when a good second in stronger company.
