Jockey C L Chau has lodged a notice of appeal against the decision made by the Racing Stewards on 26 April 2023 finding him guilty of a charge of improper riding when riding ASTROLOGER in Race 9 at the Happy Valley race meeting on 26 April 2023 and imposing a penalty of suspension from riding in races from 3 May 2023 to 21 May 2023 (both dates inclusive).  Jockey Chau is appealing against both the finding of guilt and the penalty imposed.

The Stewards of the Jockey Club have granted a suspension of the penalty imposed on Jockey Chau pending determination of his appeal.
