Hong Kong Jockey Club buys two at Inglis Premier Yearling Sale

08/03/2023 11:34

The Hong Kong Jockey Club purchased a pair of well-related colts out of the recent 2023 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale held at Oaklands Junction, Australia for a total outlay of AU$450,000 (approx. HK$2.38 million).

The first to fall the Club’s way was Lot 249, a bay colt by All Too Hard for AU$170,000. All Too Hard’s heroics as a sire are well documented in Hong Kong, thanks to his poster boy – the four-time Group 1 winning Wellington – as well as many, many more.

The colt is a half-brother to Amelie’s Star, who showed plenty of prowess on track in Australia with Group 2 and Group 3 victories in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.

The gavel fell at AU$280,000 for Lot 276, an athletic colt by Deep Field, whose offspring in Hong Kong needs little introduction and is headlined by Sky Field, Voyage Bubble, Winning Dreamer as well as recent victors Howdeepisyourlove and Adefill.

The youngster is out of American speedster Ascertain – a three-time winner over sprint distances in the United States.
