RACE 6 – SPICY SO SMART
The Veterinary Surgeon reported that SPICY SO SMART was lame in its right front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, SPICY SO SMART will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
RACE 9 – LORD THUNDER
LORD THUNDER, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm and an endoscopic examination also showed a substantial amount of blood in its trachea. LORD THUNDER was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D A Hayes this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. As previously advised, LORD THUNDER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
The Veterinary Officer reported that examinations conducted this morning of all other horses inspected during last night’s racemeeting were shown to have no significant findings.
