The Committee, by way of written resolution, resolved to grant a Club Jockey’s licence to Jye McNeil for the period from 7 November 2022 to 22 December 2022, both dates inclusive.

PROFILE – Jye McNeil

Jye McNeil is based in Victoria, Australia and is a four-time Group 1 winning rider. The most prominent of these Group 1 races being the 2020 Melbourne Cup on TWILIGHT PAYMENT.  His remaining Group 1 wins were on KINGS WILL DREAM, (2020 Turnbull Stakes), HOMESMAN (2021 Australian Cup) and I’M THUNDERSTRUCK (2021 Toorak Handicap).

In addition to the aforementioned four Group 1 races, Jockey McNeil has won 4 Group 2 races, 17 Group 3 races and 24 Listed Races.  In 11 years of race riding, he has ridden the winners of 891 races with a winning strike rate of 10%.  Jockey McNeil was successful in last season’s Victorian Jockey’s Championship and was also successful in winning the much sought-after Scobie Breasley Medal.

Jockey McNeil has advised his minimum riding weight as 115 lbs.
