G1 – 1600m – Turf

El Drama |
Proven over a longer trip than this but looks vulnerable at a G1 level. However he made an encouraging return after a 398 day break when a close second in a 1600m Newmarket G2. |
2 |
Jadoomi |
Supplemented, this slow ground specialist has looked increasingly impressive this year with three straight wins, quickening from the front 400m out in a Leopardstown G2 last month. |
3 |
Raadobarg |
A big horse who thrives on slow ground. Has won five of his fourteen starts but those wins have all come in notably weaker company than this. A respectable fifth in a Longchamp G2 this month. |
4 |
Tempus |
Can race too enthusiastically but it did not stop him gaining three consecutive wins this summer, latterly in a Deauville G3. An awkward start put him in difficulty but still a close third in a Newmarket G2 last out. |
5 |
The Revenant |
Won this in 2020, but not so strong in the finish when fourth to Baaeed last year. A good effort but could never reach the winner in a G2 at Longchamp this month. The slower the ground, the better his chance. |
6 |
Bayside Boy |
Looks best on slow ground and at this time of year. Outclassed four rivals in Listed company at Sandown last time when blinkered for the first time. A possibility, but will need a career best to win this. |
7 |
Checkandchallenge |
A smart colt but looks just short of G1 class. He survived a slow start to win a Deauville G3 and again made good headway from the back when third in a Longchamp G2 this month. |
8 |
Modern Games |
Three of his six wins have come in G1 company, all over this trip and all overseas – in the US, France and Canada respectively, the last latest being when dominating the closing stages at Woodbine in September. |

Inspiral |
The obvious favourite here, having won six of her seven starts including three G1’s and proving that courage is one of her qualities with a narrow victory over Deauville’s straight 1600m. Has been deliberately freshened up with a break since then. |
