1800m – Dirt

Accel

Posted 1-5 since moving to dirt. Second start at this level. First time on Nakayama dirt. Decent speed, but one gear. Nakayama may not favor.

Asam Blue

Only 1 start this year, returning after 6 months off following second over Nakayama 1800m at this level, first finish in money in 11 starts. Inconsistency raises doubts.

Campione

Dirt specialist over 1600-1800m has made board in all but 2 of 8 career starts. Won over Nakayama 1800m in April and is prepped with 5th in Niigata 1800m in early September. Good early speed.

Fumus Mut

Raced predominately over 1700m. Is rising in class after win over Sapporo 1700m in early September. Has little experience at Nakayama but finished 2nd over 1800m at venue a year ago. Excellent late kick.

Gal Vihara

Greatly inconsistent in 9 starts. One in the money and one double-digit finish from 2 starts this year. Won debut over Nakayama 1800m. Wild card.

Hekiku

Colt with good early speed started in sprints has risen quickly through ranks with more distance. Broke maiden in June over 1700m, won last out on 10 September over Nakayama 1800m. May be on a roll.

Lord Valenti

3-year-old front running gelding had good summer in Hakodate with 4-3-1 over 1700m. Rising in class. Is 2-1 at Nakayama. Promising.

Pionono

Racing for first time in 10 months following 2nd over Nakayama 1800m. Has ability, but condition on raceday is the key.

Rhythm of Thenight

Colt scored 2nd win in May, returned 3 months later for 7-5 over Sapporo 1700m. Good overall speed. Primed. Could do well here.

Roscoff

Won over Nakayama 1800m at year begin, followed by 3rd at this level. Given time off and returned after 5 months to post 5-10-8, all at 1700m. Extra distance not a plus, but could do well amid this field.

Satono Force

Winless since June 2019, out of top 3 in last 8 starts. Moving to dirt for first time. Could surprise.

Screen Process

After string of poor performances starting in April 2021, returned in July after 2 months’ rest to post 5-2 over Fukushima 1700m.

T O Buffett

Moving up in class with win over Sapporo 1700m in early September. Could get lucky.

Toho Bort

Rising in class following win over Niigata 1800m in early September. Raced more over turf than dirt, but has 5th in only outing on Nakayama dirt, over 1800m. Has chance.

Turning Up

Returned from NAR circuit for win at level below, but followed that with 9-5-5. Extra distance this time likely not a help given front-running style.

Warlord

Highly consistent. Has made money in all but two of 10 career starts, distance primarily in 1800-2400m range. Ran well in Nakayama 2400m on 17 September. Excellent late speed. Promising.
