G1 – 1609m – Turf
1 |
Lights On |
Can clearly handle a break, making a winning seasonal debut in a Sandown G2 in April. Not seen since disappointing at Royal Ascot, probably finding the ground too fast. |
2 |
Pearls Galore |
A Listed winner here, then a G2 winner at The Curragh earlier in the season. Two decent efforts since though short of a finishing kick in a G1 at Deauville last month. |
3 |
Saffron Beach |
Very impressive on differing ground conditions on her last two starts, latterly in a 1600m G1 at Deauville when she led and found another gear when challenged. Must be considered. |
4 |
Affogato |
The winner of two of her four starts and appeared to be running a big race when upped to G3 class only for her saddle to slip in the closing stages, at Fairyhouse in July. |
5 |
Agartha |
A three-times winner who likes Leopardstown, never having run a bad race here. Arrives in good form, having dominated from the gate to win a G3 at Tipperary. |
6 |
Concert Hall |
First run at Leopardstown for this filly, a former G3 winner. Some solid efforts also at G1 level including fourth in the Oaks at Epsom. Not seen for 44 days since a dismal run at Goodwood. |
7 |
Homeless Songs |
Vastly improved earlier this season, winning both starts latterly accelerating clear to win a G1 Irish Classic at The Curragh in May, proving herself at this trip. Rested with this target in mind. |
8 |
Honey Girl |
Probably her best run was when not beaten far in a fast-ground G1 over this trip at Royal Ascot. But her general form is surely not good enough to suggest that she will win this. |
9 |
Panama Red |
Two very solid starts on her latest two races, second each time in Listed events over this trip at Killarney. But more progress needed in this stronger company. |
10 |
Star Girls Aalmal |
Ran well on just her fourth start when fourth in a G1 Irish Classic at The Curragh in May. Hasn’t progressed in two starts since, but slow ground here would help her cause. |
11 |
Tenebrism |
Her three wins have included two G1’s latterly when booted clear over a straight 1400m at Deauville. Not certain this is her best trip, but she looked to stay it when second back at Deauville. |
