1400m – Turf

1 Courageous Knight Has started favourite on all four starts but it took until his latest start – leading throughout in a maiden at Epsom – to win one. The form of that win does not look strong however.
2 One Nation Clearly relishes this trip. He has won his last two starts though has been raised 8lb for beating two rivals in a Newmarket handicap.
3 Scholarship Made a winning debut at Haydock – the form of that maiden working out well. However no impact in a Royal Ascot G2 subsequently. Up in trip.
4 Land Of Summer Some fair performances in stronger company since winning at Brighton on debut. Didn’t have much luck at Goodwood last time but this still looks tricky.
5 Kyeema Has run to a similar level on all three starts, gaining his first win when beating nine rivals on soft ground over this trip in a Catterick maiden. From a top stable.
6 Benacre An Epsom winner over this trip on his debut, then second of five when a hot favourite. First start in a handicap. Holds G2 entries next month.
7 X J Rascal Only beaten a head in fast ground handicaps over this trip on his last two starts, finishing powerfully each time. Only 2lb higher.
8 Indian Dream Gelded after his first two starts, promptly winning over this trip at Epsom. Only just caught on his handicap debut at Haydock. Belongs on the shortlist.
9 Manifested Probably the best of three starts so far came last time when third in a maiden earlier this month. Fairly treated at the weights for his handicap debut.
10 Rock Of England Quickened from the back to win a 1200m novices’ event on his debut. Surely better than a poor show on his second start.
11 Sunny Orange Made a winning debut, but a beaten favourite on his last two starts and especially disappointing last time, no doubt why he has been gelded and is fitted with blinkers.
12 Craven Two of his three starts have come here, running a good second the first time but only modestly over this trip last month.
13 Shine’s Ambition Came close to a shock victory on his debut, but hasn’t really progressed in three starts since, and totally outclassed in a G2 last time.
14 Mystical Applause A narrow 1200m winner at Salisbury, then only just caught over this trip at Chester. Has had a break prior to this handicap debut.

Common Acclaim

No worldbeater but his last two starts – including his second at Ayr last time – suggests he can win a handicap before long.
16 Run Cmc Only win came at about 1000m, but this inexpensive purchase should last this trip. But will need to improve significantly on recent form.
17 Spirit In My Soul Just one noteworthy run from three starts. Will need to show more despite being low down the weights.
