RACE 6 – HANDSOME VEGGIE

HANDSOME VEGGIE, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. HANDSOME VEGGIE was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D A Hayes this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. As previously advised, HANDSOME VEGGIE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.

RACE 9 – RUSSIAN EMPEROR

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that RUSSIAN EMPEROR was lame in its left hind leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, RUSSIAN EMPEROR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

The Veterinary Officer reported that examinations conducted this morning of all other horses inspected during yesterday’s racemeeting were shown to have no significant findings.
