27/02/2022 11:12

The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast for betting the New Zealand Derby and the Dubai Super Saturday races on Saturday, 5 March.

The opening day of Ellerslie’s Auckland Cup Week is celebrated with the running of the New Zealand Derby (2400m). With prizemoney of NZ$1 million, it is the richest Group One race in the country.

Later in the evening, eight races from the Super Saturday meeting held at Meydan Racecourse in Dubai will be simulcast for betting. The Saturday’s programme features important lead-up races to the glamorous Dubai World Cup meeting to be held on 26 March.  The night’s main events are the Al Maktoum Challenge R3 (G1 2000m, Dirt), the Jebel Hatta (G1 1800m, Turf) and the Dubai City Of Gold (G2 2410m, Turf). These races are seen respectively as stepping stones for the G1 Dubai World Cup, the G1 Dubai Turf and the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic, which are contested over the same distances at the course in three weeks’ time.
