The Licensing Committee has previously resolved to grant a Freelance Jockey’s licence for the remainder of the 2021/2022 racing season to Jerry C L Chau to take effect on the day following the race meeting at which he rides his 70th race winner in Hong Kong. 

As Jockey Chau rode his 70th winner in Hong Kong at the Happy Valley race meeting held last night, he will ride as a Freelance Jockey at the Sha Tin race meeting scheduled to be conducted on Sunday, 10 October 2021.

Accordingly, his weight allowance will automatically reduce from 5 lbs to 3 lbs with effect from Sunday, 10 October 2021.
