G3 – 3200m – Turf

|
African Adventure | Genuine stayer who has won over this distance. First run at Greyville. Will benefit from any rain. |
| Before Noon | Ran a cracking third in the Grade 3 Gold Vase over 3000m at this track and looks to be running into form at the right time. |
| Don’t Look Back | Out-and-out stayer who is unbeaten in two starts over this distance. Handily weighted and has last year’s winning jockey up. |
| Sunshine Silk | This will be her third try at this race. Has yet to place but this will be the lowest weight she has carried in the race. Could place, but would be an upset winner. |
| Paths Of Victory | Caused a major upset when winning the race last year at 40-1. Has clearly been put on ice for this year’s event and ran a promising seventh in the Gold Vase. |
| Bayberry | One of the younger stayers who has won a feature over this distance in Cape Town. Contender if one ignores his poor performance in the Gold Vase. |
| Wealthy | Another having his third attempt at this race after two previous unplaced runs. Ran fourth in the Gold Vase but would be a surprise winner. |
| Doublemint | Finished third in 2019 but then spent a year off the track. Has come back well but battled to quicken when unplaced in the Gold Vase. Chance. |
| Favour | An improving young stayer. Has run some good races over 2400m but has yet to prove he will stay 3200m but is nicely weighted and has an in-form jockey. |
| Holy Warrior | Improving young stayer who showed his mettle when second in the Gold Vase. He is badly under sufferance but could be better than his merit rating. Chance. |
| Chitengo | Been extremely useful over distances up to 2400m but has yet to demonstrate she can win over further. Does look held by others over this distance. |
| Out Of Your League | Top stayer who won the Grade 1 SA Derby. Has taken a while to come to hand but is now in peak condition. Big runner. |
| Silver Host | Looks to be a decent stayer in the making and it is worth noting stable jockey Richard Fourie has chosen to ride him. Biggest task but could be up to the task. |
| Nebraas | Impressive winner of the Grade 3 Gold Vase over 3000m and is in top form. Top trainer, top jockey and a decent weight. The one to beat. |
| Dream Destiny | Tried 3000m for the first time in the Gold Vase and finished sixth. Will have his work cut out to reverse the form with Nebraas. |

| Paybackthemoney | Last year’s runner-up but has done little since. May have been a little unlucky not to make the field but does look held on current form. |
| Silva Magic | A nice filly who has been consistent but is badly out at the weights and has yet to give any indication she will see out the distance. |
| Catchafallingstar | Comes from a strong line of successful staying fillies but this one has yet to prove she will see out this trip. Held by a number of runners. |
