1400m – Turf
1 |
Run To Freedom |
Speedily bred but he gets this trip and will do even better when he learns to relax early in his races. Too free again here last time, but he still went close to winning. |
2 |
Third Kingdom |
Ran third in a maiden event over this course and distance last year, and then totally outclassed his rivals at Newcastle. Surely better than his dismal 2021 return at Doncaster. |
3 |
Il Bandito |
Three promising efforts this season on differing ground conditions, including when looking ideally suited to this trip to win a handicap at Haydock. |
4 |
Bowman |
His only turf win came on fast ground, a bit of a worry for this as he has been well beaten on slow ground on his last two starts. Front-running tactics saw him win at Lingfield in April. |
5 |
Fantasy Master |
This very cheap purchase was finishing so strongly that he briefly looked like capturing a 1000m Royal Ascot handicap last time. Up to 1400m but his pedigree is positive about that. |
6 |
Farasi Lane |
Yet to win from six attempts on turf, but two narrow defeats this year – at Goodwood and Newmarket – suggests that may change soon. Appears versatile groundwise. |
7 |
Onaraggatip |
His only win in eleven starts came on soft ground. Finished quite well over 1200m last time and his handicap mark looks quite reasonable. |
8 |
North Of Amazing |
Did almost pull off a shock victory on heavy ground over this distance at Newmarket last October. Will need to upgrade significantly on this year’s three starts. |
9 |
Typical Man |
Accelerated nicely on soft ground to win a Doncaster handicap over this trip, again looking as though slow conditions suited when a good second at Newbury last month. |
