1400m – Turf

1

Bedouin’s Story

Won good handicap in Dubai in January, his first win since 2019. Not obviously well handicapped. A difficult task.

2

On The Warpath

Not run since winning conditions race at Wolverhampton last December over 1200m. Not appealingly handicapped. An unlikely winner.

3

Tomfre

Prolific winning 4-y-o over this distance and in good form but best on softer surface.

4

Documenting

8-y-o. Ninth in this race last year. Since won handicap over course and distance but an unlikely winner today.

5

Symbolize

Capable and third in G3 Jersey Stakes over 1400m here last year. Needs to improve on recent form.

6

Raising Sand

9-y-o. 17 of 31 runs have been at Ascot. Won four times here. Would not want fast ground and an unlikely winner.

7

Lord Campari

Lightly raced 4-y-o. Highly tried – well beaten in G1 Lockinge Stakes over 1600m last month. Now dropped to 1400m and may benefit from it.

8

Danyah

Improved last year and in good form when last seen, in April. Been running over 1600m but effective over shorter. A fair chance.

9

Volatile Analyst

Became disappointing but revival when winning on first run over 1400m on soft ground last month. Improving but a tough task.

10

Dubai Mirage

Ran well in a couple of decent handicaps at Meydan before well beaten at G1 and G2 level there. Not run since March or at under 1600m since 2019. An unlikely winner.

11

Bielsa

Not won since 2019 but in good form recently. Never raced beyond 1200m but it may suit him. An outside chance.

12

Ropey Guest

Creditable record at Ascot, including on seasonal debut last month when sixth of 27 in competitive handicap. Only one win from 16 runs and best form with give in the ground.

13

Blue Mist

Has run well at Ascot including win over 1400m on fast ground last summer. Well beaten last month on only run this year. Needs a big step forward.

14

Jack’s Point

Second in this race last year. Respectable return over course and distance last month when soft ground and unfavourable draw against him. Respected.

15

Persuasion

After break won decent handicap over 1400m on fast ground at Haydock. Should improve and attractively handicapped. A good chance.

16

Aldaary

Progressive 3-y-o. Won over course and distance last month, then respectable third off raised handicap mark on softer ground at Goodwood. Not ruled out.

17

Shelir

Fifth in this race last year. Generally run consistently well since, mainly over 1600m but needs to improve. A tough task.

18

Boardman

Cheap buy last August. Hit form with hat-trick of wins last month. A further rise in handicap rating and faster ground make it challenging.

19

Dance Fever

Lightly raced 4-y-o. Won all three races as a 2-y-o and ran well in two runs last year, including over 1600m at Ascot. Not run since. Interesting if resumes progress.

20

Whatharm

Six of seven wins on all-weather track at Dundalk. Ran well off higher mark over 1400m on turf last month. An unlikely winner.

21

Karibana

Likeable type. Series of good performances last year, when suited by this trip and fast ground. Did well to win handicap from difficult draw at Chelmsford recently. A good chance.

22

Teston

Not raced at shorter than 1600m in 18 runs in France, winning four. Won 1600m handicap easily on first run here but struggled since. An unlikely winner.

23

Total Commitment

Consistent. Raced mainly on all-weather tracks but ran well over 1200m at Ascot last month. Needs to improve.

24

Magical Wish

A fair handicapper at this trip but well beaten at Goodwood 11 days ago. Unattractively handicapped and an unlikely winner.

25

Corvair

Finished last on first two runs this year, including in Dubai. Back on turf, returned to form when narrowly beaten at 66-1 in decent handicap over 1400m at Newmarket last month. Difficult to assess.

26

Milltown Star

Not won since 2019, well held in 1600m handicap 13 days ago. An unlikely winner.

27

Riot

€850,000 yearling. Promising and consistent as 2-y-o. Generally disappointing since, closely matched with Corvair on latest run at Newmarket. Needs to improve.

28

Lord Rapscallion

Won five times in Ireland from 1200m to 1600m. Failed to win off falling handicap mark since moved to England, well held on latest run at Epsom 13 days ago. An unlikely winner.

29

Full Authority

First run for third trainer when well behind over course and distance on soft ground last month. Faster ground may help but little chance.

Reserves

30

Highfield Princess

Improved, running well this year and closely matched with Karibana on latest run last month. Not ruled out.

31

Eagleway

Excellent second over 1400m at Ascot last month. That was on soft ground – has never run on fast which limits enthusiasm.

32

Tintoretto

6-y-o in good form and won decent handicap over this trip on fast ground at Goodwood last month but runs off career high mark. A tough task.
