The Stewards have this morning spoken to Trainer C S Shum regarding CLEAR CHOICE’s track work since that horse barrier trialed at Sha Tin on 22 January 2021.

Mr Shum said that after participating in the aforementioned barrier trial, CLEAR CHOICE experienced ongoing low-grade lameness issues in its left hind leg with associated back pain.  He said this resulted in the horse missing a number of days of track work between the month following 25 January and 25 February 2021.  He said due to this ongoing issue he was not able to gallop the horse until 25 March 2021 but since then has been able to gallop it on a further four occasions at Conghua Racecourse and Sha Tin.

He added that since returning to Sha Tin on 9 April 2021 CLEAR CHOICE has pleased him in its track work.
