Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) Day to be beamed live for betting

The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast for betting eight races from the Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) Day meeting at Nakayama Racecourse, Japan, on Sunday, 18 April.

Nakayama’s spring racing season concludes on a high note with the G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2,000 Guineas) – a 2000m race open exclusively to 3yo colts and fillies. The Classic race is the first leg of the Japanese Triple Crown and has served as a launching pad for many future champions such as Deep Impact, Orfevre and Gold Ship. The top five finishers in the Satsuki Sho are guaranteed to start in the Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby) held at the end of next month over 2400m.

The eight races to be simulcast from Japan are:

S1-1 11:25 am 3yo 1 win (1800m Dirt)
S1-2 11:55 am 4yo and up 1 win (1200m Dirt)
S1-3 12:25 pm 4yo and up 1 win (1800m Dirt)
S1-4 12:55 pm Sumidagawa Tokubetsu (1600m Turf)
S1-5 1:25 pm Kanozan Tokubetsu (2000m Turf)
S1-6 2:00 pm Keiyo Stakes (Listed 1200m Dirt)
S1-7 2:40 pm Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) (G1 2000m Turf)
S1-8 3:25 pm Sunshine Stakes (2500m Turf)

Final declarations with barriers for the Satsuki Sho will be available on the afternoon of Friday, 16 April while the final declarations with barrier draws for the other races will be published on the afternoon of Saturday 17 April.
