The BMW Hong Kong Derby is the ultimate prize in Hong Kong racing, crowning the three-race Four-Year-Old Classic Series as the most defining and sought-after race on our racing calendar. Staged for the first time in 1873, this year’s Derby will be run on 21 March at Sha Tin Racecourse. 

To mark the event, the Club will launch a Derby Quiz, which will run from Tuesday 9 March until Thursday 18 March at www.derbyquiz.com.  It is a great opportunity for racing fans to recall those glorious moments and test their Derby knowledges ahead of the big day – and it also provides the chance to win some fabulous prizes.

The top 100 participants each day who answer the most questions correctly within one minute and submit the required personal information successfully, will each receive a HK$100 cash voucher from the Hong Kong Jockey Club and also a Derby Champion “Golden Sixty” T-shirt.

Participants may enter as often as they wish but are only eligible to win the prize once each day. Winners will be notified on the next day by SMS with prize collection details.  The winners’ list each day will also be published on www.derbyquiz.com. 

The campaign website campaigns.hkjc.com/hk-derby/en/ for the BMW Hong Kong Derby has been launched with all the latest information and press releases.  “Follow the Derby Star” is definitely one of the highlights on the website, citing the Derby priorities and picks with ratings by eight renowned racing experts.  

From 11 March to 18 March, racing fans are encouraged to show support for their favourite Derby runners by casting a vote at the “My Favourite Derby Star” polling site.
