G2 – 2410m – Turf
1 |
Communique |
Managed a second – after leading – in a G1 at Baden-Baden last September. Would have a big chance on that evidence but little chance on his two Meydan starts for this stable in 2021. |
2 |
Desert Fire |
Although he won in the UK in between, his three starts at Meydan last year and his two this year have been largely disappointing. Clearly he will need to do better to win this. |
3 |
Dubai Future |
Two fine handicap starts at Meydan this year, second first time when having to challenge wider than winner Walton Street, and then when running on strongly to win under Frankie Dettori. |
4 |
Dubai Warrior |
His six career wins have all come on all-weather surfaces but he didn’t appear to handle the dirt surface here last month. On turf now and up in distance but his brilliant trainer doesn’t make many mistakes. |
5 |
Red Cactus |
Ratings suggest that he has plenty to find here though he does have winning form in Sweden. Looked outclassed in a G3 here last month. |
6 |
Walton Street |
An experienced, successful and consistent performer who looked at least as good as ever when thrashing 13 rivals on his Meydan return in January. Ratings suggest he’s got a big chance. |
7 |
Brilliant Light |
A big strong horse who has improved on each of his three Meydan starts this year, latterly when third in a G3 over further than this last time. Lacks pace but can finish strongly. |
