G1 – 2200m – Turf

1

Shadow Diva

Closed last season winning a 1800m 3-win class race at Nakayama last December. Continued her upward trajectory with close efforts in the G3 Queen Stakes and G2 Fuchu Himba Stakes, both over 1800m.  Best on firm but also handle good ground.  1800m to 2000m should be her liking but inner track over 2200m has no worries.  Hold up runner.

2

Something Just

Four wins at 1600m and 1800m in 15 outings.  Defied her odds for a late run for 3rd in the G2 Fuchu Himba Stakes (1800m), over the rain-affected track at Tokyo last out.  First time over 2200m.  Hold up horse.  No ground issue.

3

Lune Rouge

Three wins over 2000m from 20 career starts, last success at 2-win class at Kyoto in February.  Proven at Hanshin when 3rd in the G3 Mermaid Stakes (2000m) in June but below par in the G3 Tanabata Sho (2000m) in July latest. Tactically versatile.

4

Soft Fruit

Proved her talent when 3rd behind Daring Tact in the G1 Shuka Sho (2000m) in October, marking the fastest final 600m split of 35.7s among the field.  Stretched out to 2200m should be her merit.  Generally settles midfield or further.  Proven on firm but can handle softer ground.

5

Ria Amelia

High-class 3YO with 3 wins over 1600m and 2000m from 7 starts.  Took the G2 Rose Stakes (2000m) two back in September but faded badly due to the softer ground when 13th in the G1 Shuka Sho (2000m) latest.  Usually wind up from deep but can race handy.  Wins have come on firm.

6

Normcore

Made a ground-saving run for her second pattern win over 2000m in the G2 Sapporo Kinen in August last out. Proven this distance when 5th in this race two years ago. Versatile but she settled midfield or rear in recent runs. Handles firm and good ground.

7

Rosa Glauca

4 wins between 2000m and 2500m in 13 starts.  Closed last term when taking a 2500m 3-win class race at Nakayama in December.  Below par in all 3 starts this season, though making some progress with cheekpieces on when 7th in the Niigata Himba Stakes (2200m) latest. Can lead or race handy.  Has won on firm.

8

Centelleo

Finished on board in 14 of 16 career starts, including 5 wins at 2000m and 2200m.  Defeated male opponents for career best run in the G2 All Comers (2200m) at Nakayama in September last out.  Strong closer.  Proven on firm and good ground.

9

Win Mighty

Three wins between 1600m and 2000m from 9 starts. Also creditable when she fought on for 3rd in the G1 Japanese Oaks (2400m) at Tokyo in May.  Below par in her last 2 outings.  Races close to the speed.  Handles softer track as well.

10

Caro Bambina

3 wins between 1800m and 2400m from 26 career outings. Made her first appearance at Open Class level when distant 5th behind Uranus Charm in the Niigata Himba Stakes (2200m) on 24 October latest.  Tactically Versatile.  No track worries.

11

Loves Only You

Closed last season with a fine 3rd in this race last year, even returning from a 6-month break. Succumbed to the rain affected track when 5th in the G2 Fuchu Himba Stakes (1800m) last out.  Strong finisher but can sit handy.  Best on firm.

12

Win Marilyn

Never missed on board in the first five starts. Best run so far a 0.5L 2 nd to Fillies’ Triple Crown winner Daring Tact in the G1 Japanese Oaks (2400m) in May. Very disappointing when well beaten in the G1 Shuka Sho (2000m) last month.  The stretch out to 2200m should be her advantage.  Runs handy and races well on firm and good.

13

Salacia

Half-sister to Salios, the JRA Champion 2YO Colt last year. 6th in this last year but in terrific form of late. Won back to back when overpowered her rivals for a 3L win in the G2 Fuchu Himba Stakes (1800m) last out. Best on firm but can handle any ground.  Versatile and can lead.

14

Satono Garnet

5 wins from 1800m to 2400m, including the G3 Chunichi Shimbun Hai (2000m) last December, in 23 starts.  Winless in 7 starts this term but appeared to have recaptured her form when 2nd in the G3 Kokura Kinen (2000m) in August and 4th in the G3 Niigata Kinen (2000m) in September last out.  Settles back.  Proven on firm ground.  Needs some pace on the inner course at Hanshin.

15

Uranus Charm

6 wins between 1600m and 2400m from 23 outings.  Very impressive in her 7L win in the Open Class Niigata Himba Stakes (2200m) last out.  Best on firm going.  Usually races hold up but can lead.

16

Miss New York

Finished in top 5 in all 8 career starts, including 3 wins over 1800m. Made late ground when 5.5L 5th behind Daring Tact in her G1 debut in the Shuka Sho (2000m) at Kyoto last out.  Generally settles midfield or better.  No ground worries.

17

Espoir

4 wins at 1800m and 2000m in 11 starts.  Good 2nd from six-month break in the Open Class Niigata Himba Stakes (2200m) in October last out.  Hanshin should be her liking.  Tactically versatile.  Handles all going.

18

Lucky Lilac

Claimed her long waited second G1 title in this race last year.  Continued upward curve this term when winning the G1 Osaka Hai (2000m) over this track in April, also 3rd behind Normcore in the G2 Sapporo Kinen (2000m) latest.  Races close to speed.  Proven on firm and good ground.
