G1 – 2392m – Turf

1

Antonia De Vega

Needs a career best to win but it might happen as she was impressive on her latest start when winning a G3 over this trip at Newmarket. Strongest at the end of her races. Likes it soft.

2

Dame Malliot

Looks to have run to her best in all three 2020 starts, most recently when leading most of the way and finishing 3rd in a Longchamp G1. The winner of that has won another G1 since.

3

Manuela De Vega

Won a slow ground G3 and G2, both at Haydock earlier in the season. However well beaten in two starts since and looks the stable second string here.

4

Mehdaayih

A respectable 5th in the shorter G1 Champion Stakes this day in 2019, fading out in another Ascot G1 on her only 2020 start. Significant perhaps that they are persevering with this filly.

5

Cabaletta

Responded to some strong pressure when winning a Listed event at Newbury. Looks to have found very testing ground against her, including last time.

6

Even So

Lacked a finishing kick along the rails in a 2400m G1 at Longchamp last month. That was her first start since winning a G1 at The Curragh in July and she may be a bit sharper now.

7

Frankly Darling

Despite over-racing early, she was very strong in the straight at Royal Ascot when winning a G2 in June. Twice disappointing at the top level since, not really seeming in the right mood.

8

Gold Wand

Has won two of her five starts this season, latterly when quite impressive over a similar trip to this at York – despite racing too keenly. May have found 2000m inadequate last time.

9

Laburnum

Galloped on strongly in the home straight at Longchamp when 4th in a G1 there in September. That career-best effort shows that she could be still progressing.

10

Passion

Thrives on a busy racing campaign and is very tough as she showed with a gate-to-wire soft-ground victory in a G3 at Naas. Has struggled in two G1’s since.

11

Thundering Nights

A very smart three-year-old, including a G3 victory on soft ground over 1800m at The Curragh and will just need to prove the stamina for this trip. Stable having a great season.

12

Wonderful Tonight

Always trying hard says her trainer, a quality she showed when repelling 11 rivals in a G1 over 2800m at Longchamp earlier this month. Likely to be ridden prominently over this shorter trip.
