False Outside Rail - 6 and 13 September 2020 Sha Tin Race Meetings

03/09/2020 18:20

The false outside rail will be extended from 4 metres to 7 metres for this coming Sunday’s race meeting at Sha Tin Racecourse (6 September 2020).  Several patches of turf which were replaced on the outside of the Home Straight as part of off-season renovation works are still blending in appearance with the surrounding grass and extending the false outside rail will provide the best possible racing surface.  There are 2 races scheduled to be run over the straight 1000 M course on Sunday.

Accordingly, the revised Home Straight course width for Sunday’s race meeting is 23.5 metres rather than the normal 26.5 metres.

The false outside rail will remain at 7 metres for the Sha Tin race meeting to be held on Sunday, 13 September 2020 at which one race is programmed for the straight 1000 M course.  As the inside rail is scheduled to be in the ‘A+3’ position for this race meeting this will result in a course width of 20.5 metres.

The condition of the relevant parts of the track will be reassessed after the race meeting to be held on Sunday, 13 September 2020.  A further release will be issued at that time.
