Management has previously approved a request from Trainer Douglas Whyte that his allocated Apprentice Jockey Jerry C L Chau be permitted to ride in races conducted at Happy Valley Racecourse with effect from the race meeting to be held at that venue on 8 July 2020.  However due to a riding suspension which will be served at the Happy Valley meeting on 8 July 2020, Apprentice Chau will now commence riding at Happy Valley Racecourse at the race meeting scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday, 15 July 2020. 

During his overseas training, Apprentice Chau had 547 race rides which included 78 winners.  Since returning to Hong Kong he has ridden in a further 60 races at Sha Tin Racecourse, winning 5 of those races and has ridden in a suitable number of barrier trials at Happy Valley Racecourse.
