It has previously been notified that ENJOYING galloped yesterday fitted with ECG equipment to establish whether the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm during its work. The Stewards have today been provided with specialist veterinary opinion in respect of the readings taken during the work. Evidence was today taken from Dr Anil Prabhu, Veterinary Officer, Dr Alex Davis, Veterinary Surgeon and Mr J Moore, the trainer of ENJOYING.
Mr Moore accepted that ENJOYING was found to be displaying an irregular heart rhythm during its gallop and therefore the horse was not suitable to race at this time. Accordingly, ENJOYING will be withdrawn from the BMW Hong Kong Derby to be conducted at Sha Tin Racecourse on Sunday, 22 March 2020.
Dr Prabhu informed the Stewards that ENJOYING will be officially recorded as having displayed an irregular heart rhythm on Friday, 13 March 2020.
Mr Moore advised the Stewards that it is not intended for ENJOYING to resume track work in the immediate future. As such, the Stewards are not required at this time to determine as to what tests or examinations ENJOYING will be required to undertake prior to being permitted to race again.
