Listed – 1900m – Dirt

1

Commanding

A big colt who has won two of his four starts, both at 1600m and latterly showing courage in a tense finish. He then disappointed in a G3 but was difficult at the gates and sustained a minor injury. Better than that.

2

Al Modayar

Caught close home by Commanding over 1600m in January. Right up with the speed in a G3 last month but ran out of gas and faded. Up in distance.

3

Laser Show

Proven over this trip, having quite easily won a trial for this in January. However down to 1600m, he didn’t show the same zip in a G3, disappointing in that event like some rivals here.

4

Sadeedd

Dropped down to 1200m for his third and latest start, making a sharp forward move after missing the break, running a respectable fourth. A much longer trip, and not an obvious winner.

5

Grey Flash

Led throughout to win in Denmark last November, but only beat three rivals in that weak affair. Proven at this distance when a fast-finishing third in a turf event here last month. Back on dirt now.

6

Dark Of Night

Twice ran well here in January, placed behind Commanding and Laser Show over 1600m and 1900m respectively. However like others here he then disappointed in G3, not helped by missing the break.

7

Dubai Love

Has won two of his five starts, a maiden in the UK and a 1600m Listed event for fillies here in January. The filly who finished second then reversed the form in style up to this distance last time so she has questions to answer.

8

Al Mukhtar Star

Has raced four times this year already including a turf defeat of a big field here in February. Back on dirt now and his pedigree suggests it should suit him.

9

Spirit Of Light

Not beaten far by Commanding when fourth here in January and then had some of these rivals behind him when fifth of 16 in a G3 here last month. Moves up in distance, and that is not certain to suit.

10

Emblem Storm

Came from the back to smoothly win on his debut, here in January. He finished strongly again in a G3, just behind Zabardast but well ahead of plenty of other rivals here. Brilliant Oisin Murphy takes over in the saddle.

11

Zabardast

Looks a live player here if he stays this distance having progressed race by race and having had plenty of these rivals behind him when second in a 1600m G3 here last month.

12

Liam’s Legend

Won a maiden over 1800m at Keeneland last October prior to moving to Dubai. Didn’t make a huge impact in a G3 on his Meydan debut over 1600m but has scope for plenty of improvement.

13

Emirates Currency

Has plenty of experience but is still looking for his first win and has had plenty of these rivals finishing ahead of him in his four Meydan starts. Did show some improvement on his first start for this trainer last time.

14

Ya Hayati

Fought hard to win at Kempton on his second UK start and also made a winning debut over this distance here last month. That was on turf but his pedigree screams dirt so he looks interesting here despite the wide gate.

15

Tuz

Unbeaten in two races in Russia last year. Interesting in that he was formerly trained there, but impossible to measure that form, and probably best just watched.

16

Good Fighter

Withdrawn

17

Sanad Libya

Has run well on both starts including defeat of a big field of rivals over 1400m on the dirt at Jebel Ali last time. This is a much stronger race, however.

18

Attribution

Showed very little in three Meydan starts so when he finished strongly to grab a dead-heat win over 1400m at Jebal Ali last month it was a shock. Much harder here.

19

Jukebox King

Mostly very well beaten on his Meydan starts. Nearly impossible to fancy.
