Update on novel coronavirus mitigation measures

25/02/2020 20:01

The Hong Kong Jockey Club confirms that in the afternoon today, a Club Member informed us that she had tested as preliminary positive for COVID-19 at a private hospital. She was transferred to a Hospital Authority hospital earlier today for further tests.

According to our records and confirmation with the Club Member, she visited the Food Plaza and LEVADE at Happy Valley Clubhouse on February 14th. She also visited the Clubhouse gym on February 11th.

The Club takes this case seriously and has immediately suspended until further notice the operations of the Food Plaza and the Six Furlong, which is on the same floor, as well as the LEVADE. Furthermore, as a precautionary measure, the Club has closed the gym, swimming pool and changing rooms at Happy Valley Clubhouse with immediate effect. Employees who reported for duty on February 11th and 14th at these facilities visited by this member, have been asked to undergo 14 days self-isolation starting from today. The Club’s management will closely monitor their health status and will provide relevant support to them.

The clubhouse facilities are cleaned and disinfected every hour with deep cleansing being done after business hours on a daily basis. The Club will also continue with our established practice of temperature screening of all staff and customers, and the provision of face masks for staff.
