Admission arrangements for race meetings

08/02/2020 20:57

To support a collective effort in society for the prevention of a community outbreak of novel coronavirus, the Hong Kong Jockey Club (the Club) has already reduced the attendance of its race meetings. As requested by the HKSAR Government to further control the number of attendees in the racecourses during a race meeting, the Club has decided that for the upcoming race meetings on 12, 16 and 19 February, apart from trainers, jockeys, Club officials and Stewards with race day duties, only horse owners with starters will be admitted to the racecourses. It is our estimation that the number of customers will be further reduced to 400. Customers are required to receive temperature screening before entry. They are also advised to wear medical masks during the race meeting.

Subsequently, there is only limited venues open in the racecourses. On 12 February, only Owners Pavilion and Owners Box on 2/F and 3/F in the Happy Valley Racecourse will be open. There is no racecourse cross betting available on that night.

We would like to ask for the understanding of our customers for these additional measures, which are being introduced to protect the health of both customers and employees. We apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused.
