Club latest measures in response to the novel coronavirus situation

31/01/2020 23:23

In view of the latest public health situation caused by Novel Coronavirus as revealed by the Hong Kong SAR Government today, as well as the anticipated significant number of Hong Kong people returning to Hong Kong from the Mainland after the Chinese New Year holidays, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Management has discussed and decided to strengthen the range of precautionary measures to further mitigate public health risk for the protection of our employees. These will entail a significant reduction of number of employees having to work at their normal workplaces, while having business-critical teams on site to maintain the core operations of the Club. Other employees will work from home to the extent practical. We will have a detailed staff deployment plan available tomorrow to communicate to our colleagues. It is envisaged that such arrangement will cover the week of 3 February. The Management will review the situation next week.

For employees (other than those who are required to cross the border for dual site operations)  returning to Hong Kong on or after 1 February from any parts of the Mainland, they will be required to stay at home for 14 days for self-isolation purpose. For those employees who are required to cross the border for dual site operations, there will be enhanced measures, such as special coaches to and from the Conghua Racecourse. Further details on the enhanced measures will be announced tomorrow.  For employees returning from Hubei Province, they are required to follow the HKSAR Government’s instructions as announced today.

After the draw on 1 February, Mark Six draws will be suspended until further notice to reduce traffic in Off-Course Betting Branches (OCBB).

With Mark Six draw suspended, OCBB will open only on 1 February (Saturday), 5 February (Wednesday) and 7 February (Friday) from 9am-5pm in the upcoming week.

Telebet service will be available to 1 and 2 February, 5 February, 8 and 9 February to provide services for racing and weekend football matches.

Digital wagering services will continue to be available on all days for football and racing customers.

These betting channel arrangements will be reviewed on a weekly basis.
