G3 – 1800m – Turf

Viking Moon Won three races over sprint distances in Port Elizabeth before moving to Cape Town. Has yet to prove he will see out 1800m but he did run well enough in the G1 Cape Guineas, making the pace before fading to finish 6th. He is the best handicapped runner but has more of a place chance.
Sir Michael Very consistent runner whose only unplaced run saw him beaten just 1.45 lengths. Stays the distance, has done well against older horses and off No 3 draw, is a massive runner.
Parterre The first of four runners from the Brett Crawford stable, this son of Flower Alley has both the form and stamina to win this race. He will be ridden by Bernard Fayd’Herbe but stable jockey is on Super Silvano.
Bag Of Tricks Anton Marcus takes the ride on the second of the Brett Crawford runners for the owners for whom he is contracted to ride. The son of Dynasty has no issue with the distance and looks sure to feature in the finish.
Late At Night The third Brett Crawford runner who is only a one-time winner and tries 1800m for the first time. Not badly handicapped and must be in with some sort of place chance.
Super Silvano The choice of stable jockey Corne Orffer, this son of Bold Silvano could provide punters with some decent value. Has found Count Jack too good in his last two starts but should relish this 1800m although he is drawn No 11.
It’s Complex Has only raced four times and only won a maiden last time. It was, however, his first run over 1800m and he did win by 4.25 lengths so he can only improve now he has found his distance. Jumps from No 1 barrier.
Bayberry One of three runners from the Justin Snaith yard, this son of Flower Alley tries 1800m for the first time. He is bred to see out the distance and will have Piere Strydom in the irons. Ignore his last unplaced as he got too far back from a wide draw. Chance.
Silver Host The second Justin Snaith runner and this one will be ridden by Richard Fourie. Won his last start over the course and distance after a layoff when well supported in the betting and should improve further on that run. Definite contender.
Tillieangus The third Justin Snaith runner who does look held by Parterre on their last run but looks close to stablemate Silver Host on their last run as he is 5lb better off for a 2.65-length beating. Has a winning chance.
Sockeroo Has only raced four times but has not tried this distance. Has not shown that he has the ability to beat a field of this class and would do well to finish in the top half of this field.
