The Appeal lodged by Jockey A Sanna against the severity of the penalty imposed by the Racing Stewards on 26 November 2019 to suspend him from riding in races for a period to expire on 20 January 2020, for a breach of Rule of Racing 99 (2) & (6), was heard by the Stewards of the Jockey Club at 10:00 a.m. on 11 December 2019.

The Appeal Panel carefully considered all the evidence taken in this case together with the further statements taken at the hearing today.

The Panel allowed the Appeal and the suspension will now expire on 12 January 2020, on which day Jockey Sanna may resume riding in races.  The Panel further ordered the deposit refunded.
