Sacred Capital (J Lau)

Sacred Capital was Macau’s boom horse last season rising from an initial post-import mark of 65 to his present Macau rating of 115. The five-year-old has won six from nine starts at distances from 1200m to 1800m under regular jockey Peter Ho. His big-race wins include the SJM Macau Derby, the Macau Gold Cup and the Macau 30th Anniversary Cup. Sacred Capital equalled The Alfonso’s Macau Derby record time of 1m 47.00s for the 1800 metres when he showed excellent pace from barrier 14 to box seat and scored an easy win. The O’Reilly gelding defeated convincingly the 2018 Derby winner Pearl Green in the Macau Gold Cup one month later after racing close to the speed. Versatile in style of running, no ground worries.
