The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has added another valuable Commingling partner: Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU) will commingle its Win and Place bets on Hong Kong racing into HKJC pools, commencing with the Happy Valley fixture on Wednesday 30 October, 2019.

The partnership with PMU marks a major new initiative in international pool betting and expands the reach of Commingling on Hong Kong’s world-class racing to five continents.

PMU is the largest wagering operator in France and brings commingling participation from 12 new jurisdictions including France, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

The number of approved HKJC Commingling partners now stands at 58 across 27 countries and jurisdictions, and underscores the high quality and integrity of Hong Kong’s racing and strong liquidity of its betting pools.

Mr. Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, the HKJC’s Chief Executive Officer, described the new partnership as “an exciting new development in international wagering.”

He added: “To have Hong Kong racing watched across five continents marks a major new milestone on the journey to a truly global wagering system.

“The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s wagering operation is recognised as a world leader in integrity and technology. Our new partnership solidifies Hong Kong’s position as the global hub for Commingling, which cannot succeed without world-class racing, high integrity and strong liquidity of betting pools.”

The partnership with PMU comes towards the end of a year in which the HKJC partnered with Ascot and Totepool to launch the first ever World Pool on all five days of the Royal Ascot meeting.
Welcoming the latest new partnership, Mr. Richard Cheung, the Club’s Executive Director, Customer and International Business Development said: “We welcome PMU and its partners as our newest commingling partner. This agreement exemplifies the Club’s global brand in racing and wagering and we are delighted that PMU customers can now access the largest race-by-race wagering pools in the world.”
PMU’s International Director, Aymeric Verley, described the new choice available to PMU customers as “a great complement to the races we offer.”
He added: “After the successful world premiere of the Hong Kong Jockey Club joining PMU’s pool on the occasion of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe 2019, PMU is happy now to join HKJC’s pool on simple bets starting 30 October. We look forward to finally offering Win and Place in common pools to French punters on a weekly basis.”
